This painting was started a few months into COVID. I had barely been able to paint since the madness started, which was so strange when I had all this free time at home on my hands. But I was struggling to paint, struggling to catch my breath, struggling to find the positive in the situations I was finding myself in. He was like a love letter to me personally when he showed up on the canvas, reminding me how much I am loved. One definition of lovestruck is “to be struck in the heart with love” and that was how it was when he was finished being painted. I am still smitten! My prayer for you is that he will bring you as much joy as he has brought me.
